because in the end, if you truly cannot believe it yourself
or worse, if you depend on those outside forces to confirm positive perceptions of yourself

Endings make new beginnings, I tell you. I know you haven’t moved on totally yet. But there ain’t a past to get back to anymore, mind you. I cannot care enough to reply to any of your I miss you’s or any of your messages because honestly, I do not and I’ll never will. What you did was too painful to go back to, bro. And I am just so contented with what I have now. Thanks to you. Thank you for showing me that person who truly made an effort to be in my life, to stay in my life. When all you did was flirt with a frosh. Not once. Thank you for showing me who you really are before I have you meet my family. You deserve that secrecy of a relationship that I gave you.
